I dreamed up the concept for The Bad Apple after meeting with Craig, the owner, and getting a feel for him and the vibe of the Restaurant. I presented him with sketches and enthusiastic descriptions and although he claims he didn’t know what I was talking about he trusted my eye.
The first enormous piece, The Dragon of Eden, was installed a few months later. DOE is inspired by the elusive and forbidden Apple in the Garden of Eden, The edginess of the venue and electric nature of the owner screamed Dragon to me…. so with bone, metal, wood and oil paints D.O.E. came to life. A year later we had created another Dragon together, The Keepers Keep, as well as outdoor signage and new logo work. With each consecutive piece the trust builds, fun increases, and imagination flows like nectar!
